How to Join Georgia ARES – Step by Step

  1. Contact your local Emergency Coordinator (EC)
    Don’t know who it is? Check the Georgia ARES website → Georgia ARES EM by County
    Reach out and say you’re interested. They are some of the friendliest and most patient people in the hobby!
  2. Download the current Task Book
    ARES Task Book – July 2024 (PDF)
  3. Complete the required online training
    All courses are free. Details are in the task book.
  4. Check off the tasks with your County EM.
    Most Emergency Managers (EM) will sign off in person at club meetings.

Required Courses by Skill Level

FEMA Independent Study (IS) courses are self-paced and open to the public.
